HTC Desire HD How to Update with Android 4.2.2 CodefireX Jelly Bean Custom ROM

The CodefireX is the latest 4.2.4 Jelly Bean supported custom ROM. It is now present for HTC Desire HD Smartphone.  As we know all Smartphone users are desperately in search of firmware. Although there are several AOSP based custom ROM already here for this device. But, the most recent update custom ROM offers more enhanced features.

Make sure that

• Backup all data of your HTC Desire HD device to the memory card.
• You have installed HTC desire HD model USB drivers on your computer.
• The battery of your HTC Desire HD should have been fully charged.
• Enable USB Debugging mode on your HTC Desire HD device inside Settings menu.

Step by Step instruction to How to Update HTC Desire HD with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean CodefireX Jelly Bean Custom ROM

 

Step -1

Firstly, you have to download both zip file to your computer.

Download CodeFire X Custom ROM zip file

Download Google Apps zip file

Step -2

Then connect your HTC Desire HD device to the computer through USB cable.

Step-3

Next, browse the USB Mass Storage mode of HTC Desire HD device on your computer.

Step-4

Now copy and paste the downloaded both zip files (firmware and Google apps) in the root folder of the memory card.

Step-5

Now power off your HTC Desire HD device and remove the USB cable from the computer.

Step-6

In this step you will have to boot the HTC Desire HD device into the Bootloader mode. To do so, press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons jointly until you will get the white screen of the bootloader mode.

Step-7

Then you will have to click on to the Recovery menu by pressing volume buttons and select it with the power button. Now your HTC Desire HD device will start in the ClockworkMod Recovery Mode.

Step-8

Now you will have to start action of cleaning the data. After doing it successfully, move down to the option of “flash zip from SD card” and press Power button to select it.

 Step-9

Now another time select the volume buttons to find the zip file of custom ROM from the Root folder of memory card and select it by Power button.  The next screen asks you to confirm the process and select Yes option to start the procedure of custom ROM installation.

Note – This same step is repeated for selecting the files of Google Apps from the Root folders in Memory card.

Step-10

As soon as the procedure of CodeFire X custom ROM installation ends, select the Reboot system now option from the recovery mode screen menu.  After rebooting your HTC Desire HD device, it will start with update home screen around 5 minutes.

Hence after finishing the above provided steps wise step instruction, your HTC Desire HD device is now updated with the latest 4.2.1 firmware.
