Love to play with Windows 11 and 10. Suggestion - Going for Registry change or system files edit then remember to take a backup or create a restore point before Starting.

  1. I and thousands more; just want to revert to the Windows setting of- “Photo Viewer” using the Ikon on the taskbar. Instead, we are sent on a merry go round of scams; & sign-ups for dubious pay photo editing apps. I am sure my comment will remain; (just that) The nearest I got to solve this problem was- ” The Administrator Privilege is required to run this program” (RIGHT CLICK THE ICON OF THIS PROGRAM, & CHOOSE- RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR) This would not work either! This problem occurred after updating!!! Windows 10.

I’m trying to delete a file but it is telling me I need administrator permission to do anything with the file. I don’t know how or why it’s doing that. How do I fix it?

  3. Could not gain access to programs without administrator privilege, so I set-up the administrator account. Went back to open the program and nothing happened…no warnings or messages…the
program simply would not run. Anything else I can try?

    Thank you,
    Tim.

  4. Hi, nice article! How about programs that are started at startup, either in a startup folder or as a registry entry? I have one program – a macro expander where you to enter abbreviations that expand into text – that won’t do its job without having admin privileges. Windows will not start this program. I think if I turn off UAC it will work, but I would rather not… Thanks!
