I was steering this website with effort and passion, and it was growing fast. Number visit was in ascending order. One day I saw visit fell down. At first, wait for 2-3 days. But, number of visit was going down consistently. Now, I was in trouble. What happened?
Go to Google webmaster tool. It was showing error 404 in sitemap. What happened at once? I checked Google xml sitemap plugin. This plugin was showing error like “The last run didn’t finish! Maybe you can raise the memory or time limit for PHP scripts. What should I do? Firstly contact to web host. They replied that there was no issue on their end. After searching heather and thither as WordPress support, many websites I was not able to fix my problem. At last, I decided to increase memory limit of WordPress and PHP scrip. For this, again submit a ticket to Web Host and asked for help.
In the mean time I login in Cpanel and checked all sitemap.xml files. Now I decided to build sitemap manually, as a suggestion was written below sitemap error. For this, I have uploaded sitemap.xml.gz file on root of server. I did this. And test this sitemap in webmaster. Here all was ok. I deleted previous sitemap and submitted the new one in Google webmaster. The sitemap was running correctly. Nothing is to concern about sitemap.
So, if sitemap shows error like “The last run didn’t finish! Maybe you can raise the memory or time limit for PHP scripts” you may build it manually.
