Now you have to transfer both downloaded zip files to the memory card of Xperia Sola phone. To do it, connect both devices (computer and Xperia sola phone with USB cable and browse the USB mass storage on the computer screen. After copying both zip files successfully to the memory card, disconnect the USB cable and power off the Xperia sola phone.
At this step, you have to boot your Xperia phone into recovery mode. To do it, reboot the phone and press volume down button for some seconds until it will appear with recovery mode screen. In recovery mode screen, both volume buttons are used to navigate any option while Power button is used to select.
Now you have to do Nandroid backup process of your on hand installed ROM so that you can restore all previous data and settings after updating to new ROM. To do it, select Backup and Restore option. Next, you have to do data wiping task. To do it, select wipe data/factory reset option from main recovery mode screen. After that, select Yes option on the next screen to authenticate your procedure. After doing data wiping task in little minutes, return to CWM recovery mode main screen. Here, select wipe cache partition option. From next screen, select Wipe Dalvik Cache under advance option to do Dalvik cache wiping action.
Now select install zip from sdcard option from main recovery mode screen. After that select choose zip from sdcard option from next screen. Now, you should find the xMIUI_1.0_Sola zip file that you have transferred before in step 2 and select it by pressing Power button. On the next screen, you need to select Yes—Install ………………zip option in order to verify it. Thus, the process of xMIUI ROM installation will start.
As soon as the xMIUI ROM installation process finishes, repeat the Step 6 process. But, you have to select the Google apps zip file (find it in step 2) from the memory card with the purpose to install the Google apps package.
While the installation process is finished, return to the main recovery mode menu and select reboot system now option to restart the Xperia Sola phone. Now it will take approximately 5 minutes to load home screen of just installed Android 4.0.4 ICS ROM x MIUI ROM on your Xperia Sola phone.
