List of .NET Framework Updates for Windows 10 Released on Patchday 14 May 2019

Microsoft rolled out.NET Framework updates on 14 May 2019 Patchday for Windows 10 1809, 1709, 1703, and 1607. The security patches deal with the vulnerabilities on the appurtenant versions. The updates  KB4499405, KB4495590, KB4495618, KB4495613, KB4495611, KB4495610 are applicable to the respective editions of Windows 10 given in the list in the following part.

You will get the Security Updates automatically on your Windows 10 unless you haven’t paused or disabled. .NET Framework Updates for Windows 10 Released on Patchday 14 May 2019 Details

Microsoft released security guidance with the name of vulnerabilities which the security patches address. Here are the issues –

  • “A denial of service vulnerability exists when .NET Framework and .NET Core improperly process RegEx strings. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could cause a denial of service against a .NET application.”
  • “A remote unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by issuing specially crafted requests to a .NET Framework (or .NET core) application.”
  • “The update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how .NET Framework and .NET Core applications manage RegEx string processing.”
