Commonly, after plugging the display adapter, AMD can automatically detect and install the graphic driver but sometimes error 195 occurs because the Installer becomes unable to access the Servers for necessary files. The message that appears is, “Oops! Something went wrong. Error 195 – AMD installer cannot continue because it is unable to access the required web”. Error is self-explanatory and can be solved using some tricks.
Main reasons for AMD error 195 are vested in interference of Antivirus and Firewall and Server outage or downtime. However, disabling, the security programs or manual installation may come as rescuer of the issue. Let’s follow the methods:

Here’s how to fix AMD Error 195 in Windows 11 and 10:
Disable Antivirus Temporarily
The Installer needs to connect with the AMD Servers to access the necessary files to show visuals. In the meantime, an antivirus may interfere with or block some files by wrongly interpreting them as malicious, so, disable the software temporarily and check if the issue is resolved.

Avast

Disable Antivirus Firewall
As we previously told you, the Installer needs to connect with the AMD Servers via the Internet to receive files that are required for your Computer, that’s why you should Disable Firewall along with Antivirus protection:
Windows Defender
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Windows security > Firewall & network protection.
- Click on Domain, Public or Private whichever profile is running.
- Use the toggle switch and disable “Microsoft Defender Firewall”.
- If a UAC prompt appears then select Yes.
Bitdefender

- Toggle off “Firewall”.
Avast
- Open Avast and go to “Protection”.
- Turn off “Firewall” and select a time duration to specify how long it will remain disabled.
Norton
- Right-click on the Norton icon located in system tray and select “Disable Smart Firewall”.
- Choose “More Options”.
- Choose the correct time frame.
Select “Enable Smart Firewall” after solving the problem.
Install the Driver Again Later
To search the relevant drives online, the Installer needs to communicate with AMD Server but the server may be facing an outage or downtime at that particular time. Therefore, wait a little and then attempt to install the driver to check if the AMD Error 195 in Windows 11 and 10 still occurs.
Perform a Clean Boot
Interference of third-party apps with the setup may lead to AMD Error 195. Performing a clean boot will start your computer with Microsoft services only excluding third-party startup apps temporarily resulting in fixing the problem:
- Press the Windows + R key, type “msconfig” and hit Enter.
- Proceed to Services tab and check the box for “Hide all Microsoft Services”.
- Select “Disable All” and go to the Startup tab.
- Click the link Open Task Manager.
- Make sure that the programs are disabled there. If not then right-click on each enabled item there and select Disable.
- Return to System Configuration windows, and click Apply then OK.
- Select Restart from the warning popup.
If Error 195 with AMD Software is fixed, then you can assume it’s the Third-party app conflict.
After installing the AMD Drivers, don’t forget to enable all the services from Msconfig.
Install AMD Driver Manually
If error 195 still prompts, then Install the Offline AMD setup manually from the official website of the GPU. This is because the online Installer needs to connect with the server to receive files, where any third-party services may interfere. Downloading an Offline AMD Installer allows you to install the package without an internet connection, so no communication with servers is not necessary:
- Visit the AMD Drivers Page.
- Choose the correct product and click SUBMIT.
- Choose your Windows version.
- Click DOWNLOAD the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. The Offline .exe Installer will start downloading, so wait for some minutes.
- Run the .exe driver Installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the Installer is not working then potential underlying bugs may generate AMD error 195, so try installing its previous version.
Install an Older Version of AMD Software
If the Installer is not working which you have downloaded from the AMD Website manually, then it may contain a bug. Don’t worry AMD will add the correct utility on their website, but, for now, you can Install an Older Version of AMD Software.
Check your Current AMD Version
- Right-click on the desktop screen and select AMD Radeon Software.
- Click the Settings gear icon.
- Check your Current version of the AMD Software. Let’s suppose my version is 23.8.2.
Find its Previous Version
- Search “AMD Software Adrenalin Edition + current version” in the Browser. Write the Current Version installed on your computer instead of “current version”. If my version is 23.8.2, I search for AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2.
- Open the AMD Release Notes web page of the particular version you’ve searched.
- Find its previous version on the webpage. I found that the previous version of 23.8.2 is 23.8.1.
Download its Previous Version
- Search “AMD Software Adrenalin Edition + previous version” in the Browser. In my case, I search for AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 23.8.1.
- Open the AMD Release Notes Website of the particular version you’ve searched.
- Download the Driver from the Release Note.
In this way, you can download the previous version of the current version that is installed on your computer.
