  1. Insert cmd.exe on the taskbar search box. Right-click on Command Prompt and select “Run as administrator”.
  2. Click Yes when a UAC pop up appears on the screen for permission.
  3. Once the elevated Command Prompt fire up, type in or copy/paste the given command line to stop explorer.exe process and hit Enter to execute it.

  1. After stopping it, insert the given command and press Enter to start File Explorer.

3] Run .BAT File to fix Sunlight Icon in On-Screen Brightness Slider Missing

  1. Open Notepad by searching for it on the taskbar search box.
  2. Copy-paste the given text as it is –

  1. Click File on the menu bar and choose Save as or use shortcut keys “Ctrl+Shift+S“.
  2. Hit the drop-down of Save as type and select All files. Name the file as RestartWindowsExplorer.bat and click Save.
  3. Finally, head to the desktop and double-click the .BAT file to restart File Explorer and fix Sunlight Icon in On-Screen Brightness Slider Missing.
