Skype is known as standard and outstanding app and provides facility to make online voice chat with video call. In desktop environment, it is used widely. Now Skype app is available for Android devices also. Skype app helps for making free or low-priced online phone calls (domestic or international) all over the world from the Skype account. Although this app does not support video calling with Android version.
Step – 1
Install Skype App
Google Play store has released several editions of Skype app as freeware for Android devices. Only Android 2.1 or higher supported devices are compatible to install latest Skype app.
Two versions of Skype app can be installed which are as follows –
This app allows you to make both domestic and international calls via 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
This app does not allow to make domestic calls. But you can make international calls through 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
Step – 2
Configure Skype App in Android Device –
To download and install any Skype app to Android device firstly tap. Then a pop up screen requests you to log in Skype account with your user name and password. Next it prompts to establish sync between Skype contacts and phone book contacts. You may cancel it. But, If you insert your phone book contacts to your Skype contact list inside the app then you will be capable to make online call from your phone book contacts openly without any troubles.
- Contacts – It denotes entire Skype contacts lists on android device.
- Recent – It shows recent events like missed phone calls and sent messages in Skype contacts.
- Call phones – This option helps to reach Skype main screen where you can make online call easily.
- Profile – It allows to change previous profile details and status message.
From Skype app Settings section, you can configure notifications and IM options.
