Release Preview channel of Windows 11 Insider has finally received the first build of 2024 after a long time for 23H2 and 22H2. KB5034204 is the cumulative update that brings Windows 11 Build 22631.3078 and 22621.3078 respectively with 2 new features and several improvements. The update adds many languages and features to digital handwriting and eye control system settings.

  • KB5034204 is starting to expand the ability to use digital handwriting (inking) in some edit boxes for Windows Ink to the following languages and locales: Chinese Simplified (People’s Republic of China), English (Australia), English (Canada), English (India), English (United Kingdom), French (Canada), French (France), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Japanese (Japan), Korean (Korea), Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Mexico), and Spanish (Spain). Besides, this integrates more accurate recognition technology, gestures to select, join, delete, and split words, and gestures to insert a new line.
  • Windows 11 Builds 22631.3078 and 22621.3078 add a feature for eye control system settings. Using this, you can back up these settings from the former device which will install automatically on the new desktop when setting up a new device.

  • Windows 11 Builds 22631.3078 and 22621.3078 RP channel include quarterly changes to the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist file, DriverSiPolicy.p7b. The file now adds the drivers that are at risk for Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks to the list.

How to download KB5034204 and install

  1. Navigate to Settings (Windows+I) > Windows update and click on “Check for updates”.
  2. When the build is downloaded, click on “Restart now”.
