KB5036992 or Windows 11 Build 22635.3430 rolled out to beta insider

Yesterday, a new update hit the Beta channel of Windows Insider carrying changes in Copilot and Windows Share. Apart from this, the build also opened up some fixes and known issues. KB5036992 is the Beta channel cumulative update that increases the version to Windows 11 Build 22635.3430.

Full name of this release is “Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.3430) (KB5036992)”. If you want to know the precise version then Full build number is 10.0.22635.3430 (ni_release_svc_betaflt_prod1.240327-1924). Keep in mind to enable “Get the latest updates as they are available” to receive new features as they are pushed. You can enable it through “Settings > Windows Update”. Copilot in Windows

  • Hovering on the Copilot icon will prompt a menu having some options. Using them you can perform several tasks such as creating a similar image or analyzing an image. Build 22635.3286, introduced some methods to help Copilot to accelerate and enhance your work. KB5036992 adds features to Copilot to copy both text or image files, change appearance, and animate.

Windows Share

  • Windows 11 Build 22635.3430 KB5036992 LCU is pushing the ability to share directly to specific Microsoft Teams Channels and group chats directly within the Windows share window if you’re signed in with a Microsoft Entra ID. This was initially rolled out with Build 22635.2776 but was temporarily disabled to fix some issues.

Known issues

General

  • The experts are investigating Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Internet Information Services (IIS) may not function after installing this update.

Widgets

23H2 Beta Channel insiders who have the new position for the Widgets entry-point on left-aligned taskbars may encounter the below mentioned known issues:

  • Swipe invocation for Widgets may not function in case, the taskbar is center-aligned rather than left-aligned.
  • Unpinning the Widgets may not function if the taskbar is center-aligned rather than left-aligned.
  • The Widgets board is inaccurately positioned when the Copilot is in side-by-side mode.
  • Enabling or disabling Widgets in taskbar settings may refresh the taskbar.

How to download KB5036992 and install

Through Settings

  • Click on “Start” and select “Settings”.
  • Select “Windows update” from the left pane and go to right.
  • Then, click on “Check for updates”.
  • Allow Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.3430) (KB5036992) to download and once completed click on “Restart now”.

Using Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3430 ISO File

  • Navigate to windowsinsiderpreviewiso.
  • Select Windows 11 Insider Preview (Beta Channel) – Build 22635 and click on “Confirm”.
  • Choose a language and again click Confirm.
  • Then click on “64-bit Download”
  • Right click on Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-us_22621.iso and select “Mount”.
  • Open the Setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
