Symptom Workaround
Several Devices are unable to replace the Legacy Microsoft Edge browser with the same having chromium. This problem occurs especially when Windows installations are created from custom ISO image or offline media by slipstreaming this update into the image without having first installed SSU dated 29/03/2021 or later.

Remark: If you have straight away received updates the issue will no longer affect you. For example, Windows Update for Business. In order to not encounter this issue you must have to install SSU and LCU without any extra steps.

To bypass this problem, first of all, slipstream the SSU dated  29/03/2021, or later into the custom ISO image or offline media before slipstreaming the Cumulative Update. For this, with the combined LCU and SSU packages now used for Windows 10 v20H2, and v2004, you will need to extract the SSU from the combined package –

  1. Unpack the cab from the MSU through this cmd (using the package for KB5019959 as an instance): expand Windows10.0-KB5019959-x64.msu /f:Windows10.0-KB5019959-x64.cab <destination path>
  2. Extract the Servicing Stack Update from the previously extracted cab through this command: expand Windows10.0-KB5019959-x64.cab /f:* <destination path>
  3. You will then have the SSU cab, in this example named SSU-19042.2251-x64.cab. Slipstream this file into your offline image first, then the LCU.
