ni_prerelease branch of Dev Channel Windows Insider and SDK received a new update on 18/10/2023 having Copilot, fixes for File Explorer hanging, and search crash. This is having 2 known issues related to Copilot. Windows 11 Build 23570.1000 (ni_prerelease) is the update that is also available for SDK version.

Changes and Improvements
Copilot in Windows
- Copilot now supports multiple monitors. You can activate it by pressing the Copilot button on the taskbar of the desired monitor. Alternatively, use the Windows + C shortcut to display Copilot on the last monitor it was active on. For keyboard users, employ the WIN + T shortcut to shift focus to the taskbar. From there, guide to the Copilot taskbar button to display it on any monitor.

Start menu
- Under the Start menu and in Settings > System > Apps > Installed apps, the Xbox Game Bar will now be referred to simply as “Game Bar.” This modification will be implemented through an update to Game Bar available in the Microsoft Store.
Fixes
File Explorer
- Windows 11 Build 23570.1000 (ni_prerelease) fixed a few issues that could lead to hangs when launching File Explorer.
Start menu
- The update addressed a problem where, when using the Japanese display language, apps were occasionally not properly sorted in the Start menu all apps list.
Search on the Taskbar
- The latest release fixed a previously existing search crash issue that occurred in the recent builds.
Settings
- The Dev channel update fixed an issue where Home was unexpectedly showing some users that there was NaN% storage left.
Please be aware that certain fixes mentioned in the Insider Preview build from the Dev Channel may be incorporated into the servicing updates for the official release of Windows 11.
Known issues
Copilot in Windows
- In certain global markets where Copilot in Windows is available in preview, some Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel using the Home edition of Windows 11 Insider Preview builds might observe the disappearance of Copilot from the taskbar. Rest assured, we are actively addressing this issue and plan to provide a solution in an upcoming flight.
- Upon initially launching or refreshing Copilot in Windows with voice access, you will be required to employ the “Show grid” commands to click on the “Ask me anything” box for the initial interaction.
