RP channel of Windows 10 Insider just received a new update with a meager number of changes in the build. This release adds Desktop Spotlight to the desktop background, improves Windows share, and holds some bug fixes. KB5034843 is the cumulative update to carry build numbers 19045.4116 for 22H2 version. This is an optional hotfix as a part of Type C patch release.

  • KB5034843 adds Desktop Spotlight to the desktop background. Simply clicking or tapping on the icon of the desktop navigates you to Bing, where you can explore the world one picture at a time.
  • After installing Windows 10 Insider Build 19045.4116, you can straight away share URLs to apps like WhatsApp, Gmail, Facebook, and LinkedIn Using Windows Share. Sharing to X is coming shortly.
  • This build addresses Azure Virtual Desktop sessions that delay when you sign in.
  • The rollout affects games you install on a secondary drive. Now, they remain installed on the drive.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Hello for Business. You cannot use it to authenticate to Microsoft Entra ID on certain apps. This occurs when you use Web Access Management (WAM).
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Microsoft Edge. The UI is wrong for Internet Options Data Settings.
  • KB5034843 addresses the Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) issue that fails to work for custom desktops.
  • Finally, this update addresses Remote Desktop Web Authentication that might not be able to connect to sovereign cloud endpoints.

How to download KB5034843 and install

  • Access Windows update settings by clicking on “Start”, selecting “Settings”, and choosing “Windows update”.
  • Click on “Check for updates” and stay for some minutes until the downloading of this build is complete.
  • Alternatively, go to software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso, click on drop-down, and select Windows 10 Build 19045.4116. Download the ISO file, make it bootable, and install using the media.
